Kei-Van Prototype #3 Launch! How to Create the “Ultimate Comfort Space” – Lessons from the Freezing Wilds of Hokkaido Part 5
DIYで理想の動く秘密基地を作る「軽キャンカー改造日記」。第5回となる今回は、床のクッションを作っていこうと思います。
/ In this “Kei-Van Build Log,” where I DIY my ideal mobile secret base, part 5 will focus on creating the floor cushions.
1. クッションの仮置き / Temporary Placement of Cushions
(軽キャンカーの)床を自宅のリビングに持ってきました。床に(軽キャンカーの)床を置きます。
I brought the floor of the Kei-Van into my living room. I’m placing the camper floor onto the house floor.
ホームセンターで購入したクッションを用意します。
Prepare the cushions purchased at a home improvement store.
床に合わせてクッションを仮置きしていきます。
I’ll start laying out the cushions temporarily to match the floor.
横を置いたら今度は縦にクッションを置いて行きます。
After placing them horizontally, I will then lay the cushions out vertically.
クッションの数は足りてますね。
It looks like I have enough cushions.
2. クッションを床の大きさにカット/ Cutting Cushions to Match the Floor Size
床を4分割して、それぞでの大きさに床をカットしたいので、マジックペンでトレースしていきます。
I want to divide the floor into four sections and cut the cushions to those specific sizes, so I’m tracing the outlines with a permanent marker.
マーキングした線をカットしていきます。
Now, I’ll cut along the marked lines.
画像のようにカットしていきます。
Proceed with the cutting as shown in the image.
3. クッションの接着 / Gluing the Cushions
このままだと車中泊で動いて分離してしまうので、木工用ボンドでクッションパーツを接着していきます。
If left as is, they might move and separate while sleeping in the van, so I’m gluing the cushion parts together using wood glue.
すべてのパーツを接着したら床を重しにして丸一晩乾燥させます。
Once all parts are glued, I’ll use the floor panels as weights and let them dry overnight.
本日の作業はここまで！ 明日は、いよいよ支柱を車体に取り付けて床を固定するところまで作成します。
That’s all for today’s work! Tomorrow, I’ll finally attach the support pillars to the vehicle body and secure the floor.
