DIYで理想の動く秘密基地を作る「軽キャンカー改造日記」 。第6回となる今回は、床を車体に固定する予定でしたが、予想外の問題が発生 。問題点は強度でした 。
In this volume of the “Kei-Van Build Log,” where I document DIY-ing my ideal mobile secret base, the plan was to secure the floor to the vehicle body. However, an unexpected issue arose—the problem was structural strength.
今日の朝食はどん兵衛うどん / Today’s Breakfast: Donbei Udon
朝食にはさっぱりしていておなかにスルスル入る食事が最適です 。
For breakfast, something light and easy on the stomach is always best.
1. 一夜明けて接着状態確認と補強 / Next Morning: Checking the Bond and Reinforcing
木工用ボンドの乾燥状態確認 。まぁまぁ固まっているので、テープで補強に入ります 。
Checking how the wood glue dried. It has hardened reasonably well, so I’m moving on to reinforcing it with tape.
このような感じで結合面にテープで補強します 。
I’m reinforcing the joints with tape like this.
すべてのクッションを補強しました 。次は4枚の床をすべて蝶番で固定します 。
All cushions have been reinforced. Next up is securing all four floor panels using hinges.
2. 蝶番で床の固定。失敗のプロローグ(泣) / Securing the Floor with Hinges: Prologue to a Failure (T_T)
先日、4枚中メインの2枚の板に蝶番は取り付けしていたので今回は小さいほう板2枚に蝶番を取り付けます 。
I had already attached hinges to the two main boards out of the four, so this time I’ll attach hinges to the two smaller boards.
取り付けた蝶番 。見てわかるように小さい。。。これ、70キロとか絶対堪えられないよな 💦
The installed hinges. As you can see, they are tiny… There’s no way these can support 70 kg.
気にせず取り付けていく 。この小さい床は運転中は邪魔になるので取り外しできるように抜き蝶番を選択した 。これが強度不足に拍車をかけました(泣)
Brushing that concern aside, I kept installing them. I chose loose-joint hinges (lift-off hinges) so this smaller floor section could be removed, as it would get in the way while driving. This decision only worsened the lack of strength (T_T).
とりあえず完成 。この時点では完璧と思っていたんですが。。。
Done for now. At this point, I thought it was flawless…
3. 車体への仮固定、そして失敗 / Temporary Fitting into the Vehicle, and Failure
車体に床を取り付けるために支柱を配置します 。床のシート汚くて固定に邪魔なのですべてはがしました 。
Placing the support pillars to install the floor into the vehicle body. The original floor mat was dirty and getting in the way of fixing the parts, so I peeled it all off.
支柱の配置予定図 。いい感じに配置できましたが、車体のでこぼこが支柱の固定の障害になったために、急遽対策を実施 。
The planned layout for the support pillars. They went in nicely, but the unevenness of the vehicle floor interfered with securing them, so I had to come up with a quick countermeasure.
支柱の下に置く板を用意しました 。
I prepared wooden boards to place underneath the pillars.
前方の支柱、シートベルトのアタッチメントが邪魔をしていて、シートベルトを外すわけにもいかないので少し削って取り付け、うまくアタッチメントを回避できてフラットになりました 。この前方の支柱は運転中シートが後ろに移動して邪魔になるので取り外し可能にする予定です 。
For the front pillars, the seatbelt attachments were in the way. Since removing the seatbelts wasn’t an option, I shaved down the wood slightly to install it. This successfully avoided the attachments and made it flat. I plan to make these front pillars removable, as the seats slide back while driving and would otherwise hit them.

4. 床を車体へ仮固定、そして失敗 / Temporary Fitting of the Floor and Failure
床を車体に持ってきました 。これから仮配置します 。
Brought the floor sections into the vehicle. Now, time for a mock-up layout.
メインの床の取り付け、全く問題ないように見えます、ここまでは 。
Installing the main floor section. It looks absolutely fine—up to this point.
開閉式床側の取り付けも問題なく見えます 。
The installation on the foldable floor side also looks fine.
拡張式の床の配置 。蝶番の下には空間で支えは何もありません 。上から押すだけでゆがむ 。こりゃ強度不足だね、大失敗。。。
Layout of the extended floor section. There is empty space beneath the hinges with zero support. It flexes just by pressing down from above. This is definitely a lack of structural strength—a total failure…
5. 急遽、補強板の作成 / Urgent Creation of Reinforcement Boards
拡張式の床の補強のため急遽ホームセンターで板を購入する 。設計図はこんな感じで殴り書き、これでもなんとかなるものです 。
To reinforce the extended floor, I rushed to the home improvement store to buy some lumber. Here is a rough scribble of the blueprint—it’s amazing how things can still work out with just this!
カットした板をねじで固定する前に仮配置 。何とかなりそう 。

本日の作業はここまで！ 明日は、昨日できなかった支柱を車体に取り付けて床を固定ところまで作成します 。
